Hiring Doesn’t Have to Wait for the Next Event

In Students by Emma Shirey

Baltimore’s construction firms are managing tight timelines against a backdrop of a well-documented, industry-wide labor shortage. If you have an open role on your crew this fall, the good news is that you do not need to wait for a networking event or the next hiring cycle to start filling it.

The case for acting now

We have written before about how significant the shortage really is: 92 percent of construction firms nationally report difficulty hiring for open positions, and 82 percent report difficulty specifically with hourly craft roles, according to recent AGC and NCCER survey data. Every open position that sits unfilled longer than it needs to costs a firm in overtime, subcontractor spend, and schedule risk.

Project JumpStart graduates are training, safety certified, and prepared to contribute on day one. That preparation exists precisely so that when you have an opening, you are not choosing between an unqualified candidate and an empty seat.

What working with us actually looks like

Getting started does not require a long procurement process. You can:

  • Browse graduate profiles anytime on the TradeScouts Talent Board to see current candidates and their certifications
  • Reach out directly to start a conversation about your open roles and hiring timeline
  • Join an upcoming Lunch & Learn to meet our team and see our training approach firsthand, no obligation required

Our team stays involved after the initial introduction to help the placement succeed, which is part of why employer partners keep coming back for their next hire rather than treating us as a one-time fix.

Let’s talk about your open roles

If you have a role open now, or one you can see coming in the next quarter, reach out and let’s talk about who might be the right fit.
